Pick a student presentation order without confusion
A simple process for drawing a presentation order and avoiding repeat selections during a class session.
Agree on the order rule
If every student will present once, add each presenter once and switch on Remove winner after each spin. Spin until the order is complete, then write down the sequence for the class. The wheel is a way to generate the order; the written list becomes the schedule.
If a student is absent, take their name out before starting. If availability changes after the order is announced, update the schedule openly rather than quietly spinning again.
Check that everyone can follow
Use readable labels and a screen that the group can see. Long full names can become cramped on a crowded wheel, so short labels help. Say the selected name aloud after each spin and add it to the visible order.
For a large class, divide presenters into smaller groups or sessions. A wheel with fewer, readable slices is easier to follow than one packed with dozens of tiny labels.
Handle special cases fairly
Set accommodations and time constraints before the draw. A person who needs a particular slot should be scheduled deliberately; do not put an impossible slot into a random selection and redraw afterward.
Keep the same rule for everyone else. That makes the process understandable even if the order itself is random.
Put this into practice
Start with a sample wheel, then replace the entries with your own list.
